Aloha!
Back in business again, that means having go for sprit-, short- and middle-distance races, the new triathlon season is ahead. But when does preparation start? Some say in November, others in January. And what is the Australian method? Do one need a traing-camp to be fast in some during the winter?
Miguel Indurain, a five times Tour de France winner did start the 1st Monday in November. Triathletes in Europe do so, too, in America 1st of January. Because "Hawaii", the Ironman is all on Big Island again. Nice was location of World Championate this year 2025 for the last time. Both female and male will compete on the Island together again in the year of 2026. That would mean 11 month or 9 months prep depending on with side of the Atlantik. Whereas Hawaii is in the Pacific. See?
Well, like mentioned triathlon is a passion and should be fun. Next year no need to start 226k. Doctors did not recommed, but also did not explicitly forbit. It is a huge amount of training, and why not go for anything else? Most triathletes start olympic distance, and become 226k-Finishers later. Me, I will fully focus on olympic distance the next year and go race a middle-distance race after in August. A lot to do with season's peek is Germany Mastery along 1,5 - 40 - 10 kilometres.
But what for? It is a challenge again. How far can I go on a reasonable level in affairs of speed and training? It is a forward and stepwise process. To be countinued to go for 226k again? We will see, this is a version of plan B, here to cycle round Europe (blue lines are ferry boats).
