Have you ever been in Germany? Have you? You should have seen - Berlin, Munich and Nuremberg. As an examples, very beautiful in Autumn. Finally it became, colder, more windy and cloudy, the trees slightly lose their leaves - and me, unfortunatelly have the flu nothing to do just chill at free will at ease nothing else to release but peace?
That was rather cool road-trip from Key West to New York City that times.
Times of no internet. Just a call transatlantic or transpacific all 3-4 weeks to tell Europe we are all safe abroad. Nowadays, business fly to Miami on a weekly shedule, two-way Monday to Friday. For software engeineering. Or to NYC for hackathlon. That time we had time and software was as precise like it is, now, 30 years later. Its a matter of priority, only.
So you guys from the US its still worth it, the highway from Berlin to Munich. E.g. to drive. Swing by in Nuremberg. E.g. for world famous X-mas market that does start 27th of November. In Europe's top country-state within DEUTSCHLAND (Germany) that is Bavaria, leading within Europe in affairs of networking, internet and the ai. Number 1 = Bavaria. Within Europe. Fyi.
Honestly, my dreamstate was Florida. And nowadys? Its all nice everywhere, isn't? Not all dreams are made in California, are they? Or lived in the city that never sleeps? America is great, great country, but Germany is nice to live, too. Actually, it is nice everywhere? Don't believe? Sport can be a good guide.
above all, the stars don' t care - are simply there.
Unluckily after WW2 Nuremberg lost popularity. But did you know of Nuremberg had the first observation station concerning astrometrics open for all the public and people to watch the stars by big telescopes? It was mounted besides the Nuremberg Tower within the Big Castle, the Castle of the Emperor (Kaiserburg). Now you know. And have a guess where those mirrors, zooms, googles and glasses and been built ...-
America needs to stay strong and so have their allies in order to defend the free world! We do not need dictatorship and tyranny in Europe. Woe betide you! Do not mess up with the Germans? In former times we had been dangerous, nowadays we are peaceful. Don't forget. Never again!
So what to do, having had to cancel first two competitions? Looking forward to the 3rd of the planning, that is Santa Claus event along 10 k in early December.
Cheers,
Mike.
